The ring is on, the date is booked, and now there is a hen do to decorate. This topper puts Bride To Be in flowing script beside a hand held up to show off the engagement ring, which is the pose she has already done about forty times since it happened. It looks equally at home on a bakery cake, a supermarket cake, or something assembled at 11pm the night before.
Between the lettering and the hand is a socket moulded into the base. It takes a standard upright cake fountain, the ice fountain type sold in supermarkets and party shops, and holds it straight so the sparks go up rather than leaning across the icing. That is the moment the phones come out.

- Never use thin handheld sparklers in the socket. It is a firework: light it with an adult present, follow the instructions on the packet, and never leave it burning on its own.
It is 3D printed to order in rigid PLA, about 15 cm (6 in) wide, on a flat bar base that stands on icing or bare on a dessert table. Fourteen colours in all, four of them rainbow blends coded RGP, RBG, RYB and BBP that shift shade along the letters; white and black are both in the range, and this design has the widest choice we offer. Nothing is printed until you order, so it turns up with crisp edges rather than shelf-worn ones.

Do you sell the ice fountain too?
No, the topper is the holder on its own. You need a standard upright cake fountain, usually labelled ice fountain in UK supermarkets and party shops. We do not sell fireworks of any kind. Buy the cone or cylinder type that stands up and shoots sparks straight, not a handheld sparkler on a wire.
How do we light it safely at a hen do?
Use an indoor upright cake fountain and treat it as a firework. One adult lights it and stays with it, follows the instructions on the packet, and keeps it away from ceilings, balloons, veils and hairspray. Never leave it burning while everyone gathers for photos.
Is the cake topper edible?
No. It is 3D printed in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, and it is a decoration rather than a food item. It sits on top of the icing and is lifted off before the cake is cut and served. If you would prefer it not to touch the icing at all, rest it on a small plaque.
Can she keep it after the hen do?
That is the idea. Card toppers get binned at the end of the night; this one is solid plastic, so it wipes clean and holds its shape. Brides tend to keep it with the invitations and photos, and it works as a shelf piece as well as it does on a cake.
How does it stay on the cake?
It stands on a flat bar base rather than skewers, so you simply place it on top of the cake and slide it until it is centred. Firm buttercream, fondant or a cake board all give it enough grip. Very soft cream may need a small board underneath.
