There is no ambiguity about what is happening when this arrives at the table, which is exactly what you want when the dessert is the plan. It works for a proposal at home, a booked-out restaurant table, a beach picnic with a cake in a box, or an engagement party where the answer is already yes and you want the cake to say it anyway.
A socket is moulded into the base, behind the lettering. It holds a standard upright cake fountain, the cone or cylinder sold in the UK as an ice fountain, so the sparks go up the second the cake is put down and everyone looks over. The fountain is not included and we do not sell fireworks. Use the upright type only, never a thin handheld sparkler. An adult must light it, follow the instructions on the firework's packaging and stay with it until it is out. If you are proposing in a restaurant, ring them beforehand: some are delighted to help, some will not allow anything lit indoors.
It is 3D printed to order in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, in our small studio in Spain. This is the one design in the range with a fixed height as well as a fixed width: 15 cm wide and 12.5 cm high, on a flat base that stands on a cake or straight on the table. Eleven colours, four of them rainbow blends, with white among the plain shades. It is not edible, so it lifts off before anyone eats anything.

The kneeling figure is cut as a solid silhouette rather than an outline, so it still reads across a restaurant table and in a photograph taken from a few steps back.
Questions about this topper
Is there an ice fountain in the box?
No. You are buying the topper, which has the holder built into its base. Add a standard upright cake fountain yourself, sold in UK shops as an ice fountain, and slot it in. We do not sell fireworks. Thin handheld sparklers are the wrong shape and are not safe in this holder.
Can I light a cake fountain in a restaurant?
Ask first. Plenty of restaurants will happily bring out a cake with a fountain lit, others have a blanket no-flames rule, and some need a day's notice. Call ahead, tell them it is an upright cake fountain rather than a candle, and have a plan B where the topper goes on unlit.
What size is it exactly?
15 cm wide and 12.5 cm high, roughly 6 in by 5 in. It is the only design where we quote a height, because nothing on it changes with a name. That suits an 8 in round cake and still reads clearly on a 6 in one. The base is wide and flat, so it also stands on the table.
Can I return it if the plan changes?
Yes. This topper is not personalised, so the standard 14-day return applies as long as it comes back unused and in its packaging. That is different from our name and date toppers, which are printed to your text and cannot be returned unless something is faulty.
Does it come off before the cake is cut?
It does. It sits on top of the icing on its flat base and is lifted off before anyone eats anything. It is not edible: it is a keepsake printed in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic. Most people keep it, which is hard to do with a card or wafer topper.
How long will it take to get here before I propose?
