A golfer caught at the top of the backswing, standing on the name in tall block capitals, with a ball teed up in the lettering. No age, no milestone, no numbers: just the name and the swing. That makes it the golf topper for the person whose birthday you would rather not put a number on, and the one to pick for a club captain's do, a hole-in-one celebration, a retirement lunch or a plain Saturday birthday for someone who would rather be on the green.
A socket is built into the base, right behind the letters. It holds a standard upright cake fountain, the cone or cylinder that UK shops sell as an ice fountain, so the sparks shoot straight up behind the golfer while everyone sings. The fountain itself is not included and is not sold by us. Only the upright type fits and is safe here; never use a thin handheld sparkler. An adult should light it, follow the safety instructions on the firework and stay with it until it has finished.
Each one is 3D printed to order in PLA, a rigid plant-based plastic, in our two-person studio in Spain. It is about 15 cm (6 in) wide, on a wide flat base that will not tip on soft buttercream, and the height varies slightly with the length of the name. There are ten colours, four of them rainbow blends. It is a keepsake rather than a pudding, so it comes off before the cake is cut.

The ball is teed up inside the lettering rather than beside it, so from the front the topper reads as one unbroken line from the base up to the club head.
Questions about this topper
Do I supply my own ice fountain?
Yes. This is the topper and the holder. You add a standard upright cake fountain, the cone or cylinder sold in UK shops as an ice fountain, and it drops into the socket in the base. We do not sell fireworks. Thin handheld sparklers are the wrong type for this holder.
What is the difference between this and the milestone golf topper?
This one prints a name only, in your choice of ten colours, at the lower price. The milestone version prints a name and an age for a 40th, 50th or 60th, in one fixed two-tone finish with crossed clubs and a crowned ball. Both have the same built-in holder.
Is it food safe where it touches the icing?
It is a decoration rather than a food item, and it is not edible. PLA is a rigid plant-based plastic. The topper stands on the icing on its flat base and is lifted off before serving, the same way you would remove candles. For no contact at all, put it on a small paper disc.
Can I wash it and use it again next year?
Yes, and most people do. Card toppers go in the bin the same night; this one washes in warm soapy water, dries and goes back in the box or onto a shelf next to the golf trophies. Keep it out of hot cars and away from direct sun, since PLA softens in real heat.
Does adding a name make the order take longer?
No, and it costs nothing extra. Every topper is printed after you order, so the making time is the same whether you add a name or not: 1-3 working days, then tracked delivery from Spain. The name is printed as part of the topper, not stuck on afterwards.
Will it get to the UK in time for a Saturday party?
Dispatch is 1-3 working days, then tracked UK delivery runs 4-7 working days from Spain at EUR 8.95. Spain takes 2-4 working days at EUR 3.95 and the rest of the EU 3-6 at EUR 6.95, free on orders of EUR 35 or more. Order a fortnight ahead.
